Willis Attacks GOP “Clown”, Claims Unjustified Harassment From Republicans

(ProsperNews.net) – Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis described Republican Jim Jordan as a “clown” determined to interfere with criminal investigations surrounding Donald Trump. Rep. Jordan, who chairs the House Judiciary Committee, is investigating Willis’s alleged misconduct in office, which she has partly attributed to racism. Willis said Peach State public attorneys did not face oversight and scrutiny until its voters elected minorities into positions of power.

Together with Rep. Barry Loudermilk of Georgia, Jim Jordan launched an investigation last December into Willis’s motives for pursuing election interference charges against former President Donald Trump, and her links to the January 6 committee that investigated Trump’s role in the Capitol Hill riots, found him responsible, and recommended prosecution.

The Ohio Republican had previously written to the prosecutor saying her indictment of Trump raised “serious concerns.” In January of this year, he sent a second letter to Nathan Wade, an attorney hired by Willis to work on the Trump case and who was later revealed to be romantically involved with the District Attorney. Jordan’s letter stated that Wade received over $650,000, which he allegedly spent on “lavish vacations” with Ms. Willis.

The scandal involving Wade and Willis came under investigation after Trump co-defendant Michael Roman argued that the DA was compromised by her relationship with Wade. Ms. Willis admitted to the affair with then-married Mr. Wade but said the relationship began only after he started working with her on the Trump case. Witnesses testified that this was untrue at a February hearing, and Judge Scott McAfee ruled that Wade could no longer be legitimately employed on the Trump indictment.

In her recent remarks, Willis said that Jordan and other Republicans had fabricated reasons to “harass” her. “They want to now try to interfere in an investigation, and it’s not legitimate,” she said.

Meanwhile, the prosecutor easily won the Georgia Democratic primaries, beating challenger Christian Wise Smith, whom she also defeated in 2020. She will face Republican Courtney Kramer in November.
