(ProsperNews.net) – Latest migration figures show that illegal immigration is soaring under President Biden, and records continue to be broken. Numbers for the fiscal year 2023, released by the Department of Homeland Security, show 3,201,144 encounters at the border – an increase of 400% on President Trump’s last year in office.
Figures also show that 169 migrants were featured on the FBI’s terror watch list, which is the highest number ever recorded and more than the previous six years combined. Writing for Fox News, Thomas Homan, former director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) during the Trump administration, noted that under the leadership of Donald Trump, America had the “most secure border in our lifetime,” but Biden immediately dismantled Trump’s policies and created a “historic, never-been-seen crisis on our border.”
Carter believes Biden’s approach is not ill-thought-out or accidental but a deliberate policy decision. He said only the President can explain why his administration has pursued this.
The conservative Heritage Foundation agrees with Mr. Homan and also believes Biden’s policies are both deliberate and menacing. The organization has noted flights into the US, under cover of darkness, filled with illegal migrants. An unidentified ICE agent confessed last year that such migrant drop-offs were happening and added that many of those arriving had criminal records, including for violent offenses.
The New York Post documented the arrival of hundreds of migrants, almost all male, into New York via Westchester County Airport – also under the cover of night. Investigation of flight data by the Post furthermore uncovered the quiet transport of around 2,000 migrants into White Plains airport over a period of two months.
While most analysts and commentators who agree Biden’s open border is a conscious policy decision are puzzled by the reason, others suggest it is a deliberate strategy to lower wages and push back working conditions. Senator Ted Cruz considers this a legitimate explanation and called it “deeply unfair” to low-income Americans.
