(ProsperNews.net) – Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) and a border patrol representative slammed Vice President Kamala Harris (D) for her failure to reach out and coordinate efforts addressing the southern border crisis. Harris was named the border czar and despite efforts to cover that historical fact up, the GOP isn’t letting her off the hook.
Abbott highlighted a video where President Biden clearly explains that Harris would be handling the border. Another video juxtaposed members of the media discussing Harris’ role as border czar both before and after Biden withdrew from the presidential contest, making it seem as if the media is trying to mind-wipe that fact from the American electorate.
Abbott added that the title itself really doesn’t matter considering the fact that Biden and Harris both failed in their “sacred duty” to defend the country. Current federal data suggests that as many as 383 known terrorists were caught by border patrol attempting to come into the country. That’s only the number of individuals that were captured, and doesn’t include potential got-aways who never encountered law enforcement.
Abbott argued there could be thousands of terrorists in the country thanks to the current administration’s utter disregard for rule of law in favor of an open border policy. He said that another 9/11 style attack in the near future would be Harris’ fault.
Abbott suggested Harris could redeem herself by throwing her public support behind the Justice for Jocelyn bill. The bill is named after 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray who was allegedly sexually assaulted and killed by two illegal immigrants.
National Border Patrol Council Vice President Jon Afinsen told the corporate press that Harris never interacted with his group. He additionally lambasted the Biden/Harris administration for abusing the asylum system which is meant for people who come from extreme situations to grant illegal entry to millions of people from all over the world.
Afinsen said that had the current administration simply done nothing at all the situation would be much improved. Instead they intentionally dismantled numerous border protections put in place under the Trump administration, effectively opening the door for illegal immigrants. He added that the strain on his men is contributing to difficulties retaining and recruiting new officers.
