(ProsperNews.net) – Last Friday, former President Donald Trump’s private plane had to take a detour after experiencing technical difficulties, according to the airport in Billings, Montana, that received them.
Trump was heading to a rally on Friday, Aug. 9, in Bozeman when his plane started experiencing mechanical issues and had to divert course to temporarily land in Billings, about 120 miles from their destination. Trump made use of the trip and posted a video to social media from the plane, although he did not mention the technical difficulties. Trump said he “just landed in a really beautiful place,” referring to the state of Montana, and describing the scenic view of the state as he flew over it.
In the video, Trump said he was in Montana to “do some fundraisers” and to support US Senate candidate Tim Sheehy, who he officially endorsed earlier this year. He said he believes Sheehy will “do really well” and mentioned the Bozeman rally, which Trump said will be “a lot of fun.” Sheehy’s challenger in the upcoming general election is Democratic Sen. Jon Tester.
Trump was supposed to have a fundraiser but arrived late due to the detour, and some of the crowd gathered at the rally waited for hours for the former president to arrive at Montana State University, where he was originally supposed to start speaking at 8 PM. Some arrived as early as 6 AM to get a closer spot even though the rally did not start until 12 hours later. When Trump finally arrived, the crowds greeted him with massive applause.
Trump’s private jet bears the nickname “Trump Force One,” emulating the presidential Air Force One. It’s a Boeing 757 decked out with flat-screen TVs, a lounge, and a living room. In January, Trump gave a private tour of the plane while in New Hampshire and said he wasn’t a “pleasure guy” but a “worker guy” and that it was “tremendous for that.” He also bragged about the plane’s speed. He joked that it was “nicer” than Air Force One while also admitting the presidential plane represented “something very special,” too.
