Trump Slams Harris as Taliban Flaunts U.S. Gear

(ProsperNews.net) – Former President Donald Trump blasted his opponent in the upcoming presidential race, Vice President Kamala Harris, for the role she played in the botched withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan at the beginning of President Joe Biden’s term.

Trump held another rally in the battleground state of Pennsylvania last weekend and brought up what many believe to be the biggest blunder of the Biden administration: the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan, which happened in the first year of the sitting president’s term in 2021.

During his speech in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, Aug. 17, Trump brought up the Biden blunder after the Taliban celebrated the third anniversary of US withdrawal and retaking control of the Middle Eastern nation by holding a parade in a former US air base and showing off American military equipment worth billions and left behind during the 2021 evacuation. Trump said he watched the parade two days before the rally and asked his audience if they saw all of the “equipment they took from America.”

According to Trump, the US military equipment left behind in Afghanistan amounts to about $85 billion in total value. He claimed that during his time in office, the Taliban refrained from attacking US forces for about 18 months. He said during that time, not one American soldier was killed there. Trump said “it all started up again” after he left office and a “bunch of incompetent people took over,” referring to the Biden administration.

Trump claimed that Harris bragged about being “the last person in the room” when the decision was made to pull out of the Middle Eastern nation. “In other words,” he said, the vice president “had the final vote” in the matter and then “bragged about it.” The former president called the evacuation “the most embarrassing moment” in US history that should never have happened.

Trump said Americans should have left “with dignity and strength.” He added that when a country pulled out of a situation like that, they’re supposed to take their “military out last” rather than before, indicating this may have prevented the Taliban from quickly retaking power from the Afghani government.
