Trump Shooter Requested Day Off Before Attack

(ProsperNews.net) – Donald Trump’s would-be assassin, Thomas Matthew Crooks, reportedly told his boss he needed a day off work on July 13 because he had “something to do.” The man who shot at Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania told his boss that he would return to work on Sunday, July 14. Investigators have also found that Crooks left a message on a gaming website saying he would make his “premier” at the Trump rally.

Crooks was employed at the Bethel Park Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where a spokesperson said he “performed his job without concern,” and background checks had raised no red flags. Investigations into the shooter’s history reveal that he had researched Trump and Biden online and made a list of Trump rally dates. Searches of his electronic devices revealed no strong political views, investigators claim.

Former head of intelligence at the Department of Homeland Security, John Cohen, said it is likely that Crooks had “mental health issues” and a sense of personal grievance that people around him overlooked. Internet search history indicates that he has scoured for information and advice on depressive disorders, which former FBI agent Michael McKeown described as an attempt to “self-diagnose.”

Law enforcement officials have furthermore revealed that Crooks flew a drone over the rally site hours before he shot at Donald Trump. Investigators say they believe the shooter examined the site at least six times, suggesting he planned his assassination attempt far in advance.

Republican lawmakers, who have been briefed by law enforcement, later commented that Crooks was identified as suspicious before the shooting. Oklahoma senator Markwayne Mullin stated that police were “actively looking for him for 19 minutes before the shots rang out.”

The 20-year-old Pennsylvania native reportedly excelled in math and graduated from the Community College of Allegheny County with a plan to become a mechanical engineer. One of his teachers, Xavier Harmon, said he didn’t feel accepted by society and sought refuge online.
