Trump Shares Harrowing Moments of Assassination Attempt

(ProsperNews.net) – Former President Donald Trump has been on a media blitz ever since he survived an assassination attempt, and although he initially said he did not plan on speaking about it immediately after the fact, the media keep asking him about it and he’s opened up.

In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, who paid a visit to the former president at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, Trump shared more about the harrowing incident that almost resulted in his death on live television and said he immediately knew a bullet struck his ear on July 13 in Butler County, Pennsylvania. When asked what he was thinking at that moment, Trump said it seemed “surreal” and he almost didn’t realize where he was for a split second

“I never felt that,” the former president said, and that he “knew immediately” a bullet hit him. Trump has previously described hearing the whizzing of the bullets before one of them grazed his ear, making him reach for it in reaction before he ducked and Secret Service agents jumped on him. He’s also repeatedly claimed that he would have been hit directly in the head had he not turned his head suddenly, a sentiment he expressed during the hour-long sit-down with Breitbart, along with the immigration data chart Trump swears saved his life.

Trump noted how that chart, which he turned his head to look at the exact moment a bullet whizzed by and grazed his ear, was usually used later in his speech and that it was “always on the left” rather than on the right. He said the odds of the whole thing were “like 10 million to one” and that “an eighth of a second” made all the difference.

Trump mentioned how both of his elder sons, as shooters, said that the would-be assassin was relatively close and that their father was lucky to be alive. The former president praised the sniper who took out the shooter, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, and also acknowledged that the Secret Service overall “had a big lapse” by not covering the roof of the building from which Crooks shot.

The former president attributed the chart and the precise turning of his head at the exact moment to “divine intervention.” Trump said that being president was “a dangerous profession” and noted how many “have been assassinated” in the past and how Ronald Reagan “almost died” after the attempted assassination against him.
