Trump Makes NEW PROMISE – “Eye For An Eye…”

(ProsperNews.net) – Donald Trump has unveiled a key policy for a future Presidency – the Reciprocal Trade Act. This means that if countries that do business with the United States impose tariffs on US goods, the US will impose the same tariff on produce from that country.

“If India, China, or any other country hits us with a 100 or 200 percent tariff on American-made goods, we will hit them with the same exact tariff. In other words, 100 percent is 100 percent. If they charge US, we charge THEM—an eye for an eye, a tariff for a tariff, same exact amount,” the former President said.

Trump also lashed out at President Joe Biden, who he said is making America weak and running up more trade losses than any previous President. Mr. Trump celebrated his new plans and said they will benefit various sectors of American society, specifically mentioning the farmers of Iowa, the state where the first primary elections will occur.

President Trump also said the policy will elevate the American middle class, end our dependence on China, and bring trillions of dollars into the US economy.

Trade is a key area for the former President. A series of controversial tariff policies marked his administration. Trump’s White House imposed tariffs on products ranging from washing machines to steel and aluminum. This angered many trading partners who responded with reciprocal levies. He also made a shift away from multilateral to bilateral trade agreements.

Donald Trump’s strong feelings on international trade go back to the 1980s. He believed then, and believes now, that other countries take advantage of the United States, which is entirely unacceptable to him and his America First agenda. “The fact is, you don’t have free trade. We think of it as free trade, but you right now don’t have free trade. A lot of people are tired of watching the other countries ripping off the United States. This is a great country,” he said in 1987.
