Trump: Harris More Beatable Than Biden

Nevertheless, the Vice President’s campaign appears to have gotten off to a positive start. Figures indicate that she has raised a record $100 million in 36 hours, with 62% coming from first-time donors. In addition, several Democratic funders who withdrew their support after Biden’s poor performance at the Presidential debate in Atlanta have joined Harris’s campaign and resumed their donations. Reid Hoffman, the LinkedIn founder, renewed his support, saying that Kamala Harris was the “right person at the right time.”

Vice President Harris held her first rally on July 23 and told a cheering Wisconsin crowd that she has spent her career prosecuting fraudsters and abusers of women, adding, “I know Donald Trump’s type.” Analysts suggest her speech indicated her line of attack against the former President, signaling she intends to tout her record as a prosecutor and highlight Trump’s criminal convictions.

Endorsements from high-profile Democrats have also significantly boosted Harris, who quickly won the backing of senior figures, including Bill and Hillary Clinton and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. In a written statement to the press, Ms. Pelosi said she supports Harris with “immense pride” and felt confident that the Vice President would lead Democrats to victory in November.

In a newspaper op-ed, Hillary Clinton wrote that she knows how it feels to “fight through the sexism and double standards” but is confident Kamala Harris can overcome these and defeat Trump. Clinton said Harris represents a fresh start for US politics and offers a “hopeful, unifying vision.”

Donald Trump, meanwhile, said he cannot wait to debate Ms. Harris because this would allow him to “expose” her as the “worst Vice President in American history.”
