Trump Calls for Measures as Voting System Breaches

(ProsperNews.net) – The Trump campaign is calling for urgent action after Colorado’s Secretary of State Jena Griswold admitted that county voting system passwords were mistakenly posted on the Secretary of State’s public website for several months. Following the revelation, Trump’s legal team, led by attorney Scott Gessler, requested a temporary halt to mail-in ballot processing in Colorado and urged officials to reconfigure election systems impacted by the breach. According to reports, the passwords were accessible in a spreadsheet where users could reveal them by clicking an “unhide” function.

While Griswold has faced immediate criticism and calls to resign from Colorado Republicans, she asserted that election integrity remains intact, citing multiple security safeguards that minimize risks even in cases of human error. She acknowledged the error, emphasizing that the exposed passwords did not jeopardize overall election security due to built-in system protections. In response to the incident, Griswold’s office has sent cybersecurity teams to work with counties on updating system passwords and reinforcing protocols.

However, Gessler criticized Griswold for what he called an initial cover-up, accusing her of failing to disclose the breach when it was first discovered. In his view, transparency should have been the immediate priority to maintain public confidence in Colorado’s election process. “Inconvenience is necessary to secure election equipment,” Gessler stated in a letter demanding further action.

Griswold has refused to step down, defending her team’s response as timely and effective, even if imperfect. “Humans make mistakes,” she remarked, pointing to the office’s swift corrective measures and additional precautions taken to ensure that election integrity remains uncompromised.
