(ProsperNews.net) – A host on the daytime show The View acknowledged that it was hypocritical not to criticize Joe Biden for failing to recognize his grandchild when they would do so if the culprit were Donald Trump. President Biden’s son Hunter fathered a child in Arkansas in 2019, but neither he nor any of the Biden family acknowledge the child’s existence. When The View’s anchors refused to address it, co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin said, “I do feel like if it was Trump, we would talk about it, that’s the thing.”
Griffin made her remarks when host Whoopi Goldberg suggested the press should not cover the story because it is a private family matter. The issue arose as media scrutiny intensifies in the wake of a legal settlement between Hunter Biden and the child’s mother, Lunden Roberts. Biden settled with Roberts and agreed to pay $5000 monthly in child support. He also asked that the child not use the name Biden, and this was agreed.
In The New York Times on July 9, Maureen Dowd wrote a scathing opinion piece accusing President Biden of hypocrisy and questioning the authenticity of his commitment to family values. Dowd pointed out that Biden ran on a “decency” ticket in 2020 and promised to save the “soul of America.” Yet, she argues, few Americans would consider it “decent” to publicly ignore a child who is his own flesh and blood.
The President has mentioned his “six” grandchildren on several occasions in public and boasts about how much time he spends with them. At Christmas, the family hangs stockings in the White House for each child, as well as pets, but again, 4-year-old Navy Joan is excluded.
Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre refuses to answer questions on the issue, prompting writer Carmine Sabia to say, “Karine Jean Pierre will not comment on whether or not President Joe Biden acknowledges the existence of his own granddaughter.
