(ProsperNews.net) – Sunny Hostin, co-host of “The View,” has accused Israel of “war crimes” while simultaneously comparing Hamas to the US right-wing group the Proud Boys. While fellow hosts Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro all agreed that Hamas should face severe consequences for its actions, Hostin said Israel must adhere to international law and compared the Jewish state’s response to the attack with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Ms. Hostin used the words of the unelected European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to reinforce her argument, saying Von Der Leyen accused Russia of war crimes when it destroyed Ukrainian infrastructure. “Cutting off men, women, children of water, electricity, and heating with winter coming, these are acts of pure terror, and we have to call it as such,” Von Der Leyen said.
In response to the terror attack on Israel on Oct. 7, which left more than 1,300 civilians dead, Israel blocked supplies to the Gaza Strip – including food, electricity, and water. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the blockade would remain until the terrorists freed kidnapped Israelis.
The United Nations released a statement condemning Israel for its “indiscriminate military attacks against the already exhausted Palestinian people of Gaza” and said it amounts to “collective punishment.”
Some critics accuse the United Nations of anti-Israel bias. The Times of Israel recently published data showing that the UN passed more resolutions against Israel in 2022 than the rest of the world combined. The newspaper also noted that regimes such as Saudi Arabia and Iran, which human rights groups denounce as tyrannical, are welcomed onto human rights councils at the UN.
UN Watch, a group that monitors anti-Israel bias at the United Nations, said it has condemned Israel 140 times since 2015 while passing only 68 resolutions critical of other countries during the same period. Following the terror attack of October 7, the UN General Assembly passed another resolution accusing the Jewish state of “prolonged occupation.”
