Six House Dems Join GOP to Condemn Harris’s Border Role

(ProsperNews.net) – Six Democrats joined forces with the GOP to pass a resolution condemning Vice President Kamala Harris for her failure to bring the southern border crisis under control after being proclaimed “border czar” by President Joe Biden. The measure passed the House, 220 to 196.

The Democrats who joined the Republicans include Reps. Yadira Caraveo (D-CO), Don Davis (D-NC), Henry Cuellar (D-TX), Mary Peltola (D-AL), Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA), and Jared Golden (D-MA).

Republicans have repeatedly slammed Harris on her failure to secure the southern border along with Department of Homeland Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Mayorkas was impeached by the House and in a completely unprecedented move; Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) decided to table the issue instead of holding a trial which is his duty under the Constitution.

The fact that six Democrats sided with Republicans demonstrated the division within the party and how many aren’t satisfied with Harris as a replacement nominee for the presidential election after Biden withdrew from the contest.

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) castigated Harris during discussion of the bill as responsible for “failed and dangerous” border policies and described the current situation as “the most catastrophic border crisis” in the entire history of the U.S.

House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-TN) suggested Harris was responsible for the crisis.

Democrats opposed to the bill suggested it was a political ploy to attack their party’s current nominee. There’s no guarantee Harris will be the Democrat candidate as the Democrats have swapped Biden out after weeks of terrible polling following his disastrous debate performance in late June; they may simply swap her out for someone fresh if she doesn’t perform as needed.

House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN) highlighted the media’s attempt to revise history. Corporate outlets had suggested that Harris was never titled “border czar” despite covering the title and duties themselves previously.

Democrats recently unveiled their intention to create a “path to citizenship” for the 11 million illegals in the country, should Harris win. Trump wants to engage in mass deportations.
