Shellenberger Exposes Lies about Renewable Energy

(ProsperNews.net) – Author Michael Shellenberger has exposed the environmental cost of producing solar panels and says it is at least three times higher than the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) claims. In an expanded Twitter post, Shellenberger begins, “People say solar panels don’t produce carbon emissions, but they do.”

He goes on to state that solar panels are made in China using “toxic heavy chemicals” and these are not recycled nor environmentally friendly. They furthermore require the availability of 300 to 600 times more land than any other energy source. Shellenberger controversially claims that communist China is utilizing slave labor to produce the panels.

The writer points to an Environmental Progress website, which claims to lay bare the truth behind climate alarmism and alleges that most of what the mainstream media publicizes is provably false. One such claim is that America is a primary global polluter, when in fact, according to Environmental Progress, emissions from the United States are in rapid decline and have fallen every year since 2003. Furthermore, the number of people dying from extreme weather events or natural disasters was much higher in the 1920s and 1930s than it is today.

Mr. Shellenberger’s revelations come as globalist bodies increase the alarmist rhetoric and call for immediate action. The United Nations secretary general, António Guterres, recently said the era of global warming was at an end and the “global boiling” era has arrived. He did not provide specifics as to why this is or how the diagnosis can be definitively made.

Guterres called for “dramatic, immediate action” but did not specify what form this would take, except to say that greenhouse gas emissions (energy produced by fossil fuels) must reduce by 43% by 2030. This would involve a complete transformation of the world’s economy, leading to a severe curtailment of freedom and a significant drop in living standards in the world’s industrialized nations.

Shellenberger maintains that there is no scientific basis for Mr. Guterres’s claims.
