RNC Crowd Roars “Fight” as Bandaged Trump Takes Stage

(ProsperNews.net) – Republicans erupted into chants of “Fight, Fight, Fight” as Donald Trump made his way into the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. With a bandage over his ear, the former President appeared more subdued than usual in what was his first public appearance since Thomas Matthew Crooks attempted to assassinate him at a Pennsylvania rally.

After officially accepting the GOP Presidential candidate nomination, Mr. Trump spoke for around 90 minutes, telling his colleagues and supporters he was “not supposed to be here.” Trump described the moment a bullet struck his ear in Pennsylvania and said he was alive “only by the grace of almighty God.”

Trump’s speech was hotly anticipated, particularly in light of what he described as a “cordial” conversation with President Biden after the shooting. The Republican pledged to rewrite his speech after the two leaders spoke by phone, and observers said Trump’s anti-Biden rhetoric was notably less than usual. Trump mentioned Biden only once in the lengthy speech, repeating his claim that America was “in decline” under the Democrat’s leadership.

The former President called for unity, saying Americans are “bound together by a single fate and a shared destiny.” Regarding policy, he notably did not mention abortion but again pledged to conduct the largest deportation in American history.

Meanwhile, Democrats are under growing pressure to replace President Biden as the party’s candidate, with former President Barack Obama expressing his concerns. Reports indicate that Obama believes Biden’s prospects have significantly diminished since his poor performance against Donald Trump at the first Presidential debate in Atlanta.

President Biden has separately stated that he would consider pulling out of the race if it were medically necessary or if a doctor diagnosed “some medical condition.” The President has subsequently been diagnosed with COVID-19 and is recovering at his Delaware home.

Bookmakers state that Vice President Kamala Harris is the favorite to replace Biden as the Democratic candidate. She has overtaken California Governor Gavin Newsom and increased her odds significantly.
