RFK Jr. Reacts to Siblings’ Criticism of His Campaign

(ProsperNews.net) – Independent Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy has reacted to a tweet posted by his four siblings asking Americans not to vote for him and calling his campaign “dangerous to our country.” Mr. Kennedy said the issue is very upsetting, and it was difficult for him to walk away from the party that a large part of his family history. “I was raised in the Democratic Party, my father, my uncles were the party’s leaders,” he said, before adding that he felt he had no choice but to go it alone.

Kennedy started as a Democrat candidate, but at a rally in Philadelphia recently, he declared his independence and urged American voters to do the same. A member of one of America’s most famous families, Mr. Kennedy is outspoken in his condemnation and criticism of the mainstream political system. Not one for mincing his words, he said the same corporate donors control both major parties, and there is a “paralysis” on Capitol Hill.

The candidate accused his former party of anti-democratic practices and said the Democrats shield President Biden from competition and scrutiny by refusing to host primary debates. Now, as an independent, Mr. Kennedy hopes to take support from both President Trump and President Biden, and polls show that he is doing just that.

An Ipsos/Reuters survey conducted after Kennedy declared his independence showed him disrupting the leading candidates of both parties. Trump and Biden polled at 35% until Kennedy’s name was thrown into the mix; this caused Biden’s support to drop to 31% and Trump’s to 33%.

Polls also show that Kennedy is more popular among Republicans than Democrats, and financial records reveal he is receiving substantial donations from GOP funders. Timothy Mellon, for instance, gave $1.5 million to the Trump campaign last year, but has just donated $5 million to Kennedy. American Values 2024, the super PAC behind Mr. Kennedy, said he raised $11 million in the six hours following his independence announcement.
