(ProsperNews.net) – A rescued Hamas hostage has filed a lawsuit against an American non-profit, claiming it is linked to the terror group. Hamas held Almog Meir Jan for just under 250 days after kidnapping him during the October 7 terror attack on Israel. He was eventually located in the home of Abdallah Aljamal, who has previously been employed as a spokesperson for the Hamas health ministry and contributes to the Palestine Chronicle media outlet. The Palestine Chronicle is part of the US tax-exempt media group, People Media Project.
Israeli Defense Force (IDF) officials said that 27-year-old Andrey Kozlov and 41-year-old Shlomi Ziv were likewise held captive at Aljamal’s property in Nuseirat, Gaza.
The lawsuit filed by 22-year-old Almog Meir Jan claims that the Palestine Chronicle employed Aljamal, whom it describes as a “Hamas operative,” and gave him a platform to “disseminate Hamas propaganda” while the American taxpayer paid his salary. The suit declares that in doing so, the Palestine Chronicle “aided, abetted, and materially supported” Aljamal and, by extension, Hamas.
The rescued hostage was taken by Hamas terrorists from the Nova music festival on the morning of October 7 and was reportedly held in harsh conditions throughout his captivity. The lawsuit further contends that the Palestine Chronicle attempted to conceal its connection to the terror attack when Aljamal died at the hands of IDF soldiers during the rescue operation. The suit claims editor-in-chief Dr. Ramzy Baroud and principal officer and manager John Harvey knew he was a Hamas operative and are therefore complicit in the terror group’s crimes.
The US government designated Hamas as a terrorist organization in 1997, and American laws prohibit individuals and groups from knowingly providing material support to those with the terrorist designation.
Other organizations listed by the State Department as terror groups include ISIS, Ansar al-Shari’a, Boko Haram, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran. In June, Canada similarly determined that the IRGC posed an international terror threat.
