Rep. Schiff Allegedly Robbed, Attends Campaign Dinner Without a Suit

(ProsperNews.net) – Democratic California Rep. Adam Schiff attended a recent event in a hiking vest after robbers allegedly stole his clothes from his car. The incident happened in San Francisco, where Mr. Schiff left his vehicle in a parking garage, only to return and find his clothing missing. Nevertheless, he attended the event where he paid tribute to renowned attorney Joe Cotchett, who supports his campaign to replace the late Rep. Dianne Feinstein in the US Senate.

Mr. Cotchett praised Schiff’s attendance at the dinner despite the theft, saying, “Adam really showed himself tonight. He’ll be a great senator.” Mr. Schiff appeared undisturbed by the theft as he prepared to square off against former baseball star Steve Harvey after a contentious Democratic primary race.

Pro-Israel Schiff competed against left-winger Barbara Lee and Orange County Congresswoman Katie Porter. Rep. Schiff faced criticisms for attacking fellow Democrats in a primary race that included Republican Steve Garvey. Critics say Schiff sought to ensure a general election battle against the baseball star rather than a Democrat in the famously blue state.

Under California’s rules, both parties participate in a single primary, meaning the result could conceivably pit one Democrat against another in the general election, a situation observers say Schiff planned to avoid.

When victory came, Rep. Schiff found that the controversy was not over. Palestinian protestors interrupted his victory party, prompting some to suggest he had changed his position on the Middle East conflict. Activists chanting “Free Palestine” and “Ceasefire now” drowned out his celebration speech.

The Democrat said he respected the right to protest, adding that he supported the Biden administration’s position on the conflict. “There needs to be a deal to release the hostages and have a pause in the fighting,” he said.

Republican Mr. Garvey has warned Schiff not to assume he will replace former Senator Feinstein despite California’s dramatic shift to Democrats over the past few decades. “It ain’t over ’til it’s over,” Garvey said.
