(ProsperNews.net) – Actor Rob Reiner used Independence Day to warn Americans it would be their last if they elect Donald Trump in November. The Biden supporter took to Twitter, saying if the “convicted felon” returns to the White House, America’s independence will end. Reiner’s tweet attracted numerous responses, most of which criticized him for exaggeration and fear-mongering.
Mr. Reiner was similarly perturbed following President Biden’s notorious performance against Donald Trump at the first Presidential debate in Atlanta. He tweeted that the President had a bad night and the event was a “disaster.” Reiner urged Americans, however, to choose a “good decent man” like Joe Biden or “a convicted felon who will destroy our democracy.”
Trump’s strongest critics, including fellow Hollywood star Robert DeNiro, frequently warn that Mr. Trump will obliterate democracy or institute authoritarian rule. The Goodfellas actor recently stood outside the Manhattan courtroom where the former President faced criminal charges and declared that the Republican would “destroy the world.” The 80-year-old actor also warned that Trump will not leave the White House if elected again.
Donald Trump has repeatedly denied that he presents any threat to American democracy, calling the claims “Democrat misinformation” and a “hoax.” Trump insists that Joe Biden is the real danger and accuses him of using the Justice Department against his political foes because he cannot win an honest debate.
Mr. Trump believes the Democrats are “desperate” and engaging in a dishonest smear campaign to discredit him and distract from “the monstrous abuses of power” their party is committing.
Several other celebrities reacted to the Atlanta presidential debate, expressing alarm at what they saw as Joe Biden’s catastrophic performance. Hollywood star Bette Midler, a staunch Trump critic, declared that the President was obviously affected by a cold but still managed to answer the questions asked, whereas Trump avoided them. The View co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin added her voice, saying Democrats must convince President Biden to step aside in favor of a fresh candidate.
