(ProsperNews.net) -Police have detained a suspect in New Jersey after a shooting spree left three people dead in Pennsylvania. Authorities say they arrested 26-year-old Andre Gordon on suspicion of killing his 52-year-old stepmother, Karen Gordon, and his 13-year-old sister, Kera, in their home in Bucks County. He then drove to the house of his children’s mother, Taylor Daniel, and shot her dead.
Bucks County District Attorney Jennifer Schorn explained that three other people were present during the incident in Pennsylvania, with some managing to hide from the gunman, while one suffered injuries after Gordon allegedly hit her with the butt of his gun.
Falls Township Police Chief Nelson Whitney noted that Gordon used an AR-15 rifle to carry out the killings and drove from scene to scene in carjacked vehicles. He was eventually located holed up in a house in Trenton, New Jersey, where he held hostages and caused an hours-long stand-off with law enforcement officers and a specialized SWAT team.
He eventually fled the house, and police caught up with him two blocks away when he reportedly cooperated with police and gave himself up.
Trenton Mayor Reed Gusciora praised law enforcement officers and said the city is helping evacuated residents, who were forced to leave their homes following police deployment of tear gas. “Trentonians stick together. It’s one big family here,” he said.
The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office later confirmed that it had charged Gordon with three counts of first and second-degree murder, numerous counts of burglary, aggravated assault, robbery, unlawful restraint, theft, possession of an instrument of crime, discharging a firearm in an occupied structure, terrorist threats, and reckless endangerment.
Gordon was held in Trenton to await extradition to Pennsylvania. Several law enforcement agencies were involved in the incident, including the FBI, Trenton Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police, and the federal Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) agency. The DA’s office thanked all officers and expressed condolences to the victims’ families.
