Pelosi’s Shocking Comments About a Trump Victory

(ProsperNews.net) – Former Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has told Americans that a second Donald Trump term would mean the end of the US Constitution. Pelosi, an outspoken critic of the former President, told CNN, “Our democracy, our flag, our Constitution, the future of our children” are in peril if Trump is successful in 2024.

The California Democrat predicted, however, that Trump will not win again because of his “disdain” for mainstream journalists, whom she described as the “guardians of our democracy.” Pelosi also stated that she believes foreign dictators see an ally in President Trump because they relate to and understand his contempt for the modern media.

Ms. Pelosi was largely referring to comments Mr. Trump made during a recent interview in Iowa when he said he would not be a dictator except “on day one.” The former President later expanded on the remarks. “We’re closing the border, and we’re drilling, drilling, drilling. After that, I’m not a dictator,” he said.

Trump’s opponents have seized on the comments, with many saying Mr. Trump had provided a clear warning of what was to come. Al Gore, Vice President during the Clinton administration, told CNN that Americans need to “believe” Trump when he “tells us who he is.” Biden campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez made similar remarks, saying, “Donald Trump has been telling us exactly what he will do if he’s reelected.”

Celinda Lake, a pollster for the Biden camp, said President Biden has expressed private concerns that Trump will view victory as a mandate to rule with an iron fist. Biden is running against him to stop that from becoming reality, Lake claimed. “This is the reason he ran initially, and the reason — with Donald Trump running — he’s running again,” she said.

Polls from early December show that President Trump is extending his lead over Biden; an Emerson College survey placed him at 43% to Biden’s 39%. The Wall Street Journal has Trump ahead by 47% to 43%.
