(ProsperNews.net) – Palestinian supporters tried to breach White House parameters in a protest against the Biden administration’s support of Israel. Parts of the large metal fence surrounding the building were pushed backward by crowds waving Palestinian flags and throwing dolls intended to represent dead children in Gaza.
Secret Service agents and other law enforcement officers prepared to confront the protestors with riot gear, but they were unable to breach the fence.
The demonstration was one of many across the US since the terror attack on Israel last October and Israel’s subsequent declaration of war on Hamas – the designated terror group that governs the Gaza Strip.
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi recently provoked outrage when she suggested such protestors may be linked to Russia. Pelosi said Putin favors calls for a ceasefire in the Middle East, telling CNN, “Make no mistake, this is directly connected to what he would like to see.” The senior Democrat called for an investigation into the financing of pro-Palestinian groups.
The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) strongly condemned Pelosi’s comments and described calls for an investigation as “deeply authoritarian.”
At an event in Washington, DC, on January 24, President Biden was approached by United Auto Workers union members, which endorsed a ceasefire at its annual conference in December. Members interrupted the President’s speech and were removed from the venue, which could be a blow to Biden as he hopes to hang on to that group’s endorsement.
In a separate event in Pennsylvania, pro-Palestinian demonstrators interrupted the President again as he campaigned at the Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina – the scene of the murder of nine black people by a white supremacist in 2015. Biden was forced to pause his speech as protestors stood in the church’s aisle chanting, “Ceasefire now!”
Polls suggest that Biden is losing the support of many Arab or Muslim groups in America, as well as young people, over his pro-Israel stance.
