(ProsperNews.net) – Republican Presidential candidate Nikki Haley has accused GOP Congress members of putting national security at risk for Donald Trump’s benefit. She called her Republican colleagues “irresponsible” for refusing to pass a bill negotiated by Senators that would provide aid to Ukraine and Israel and place more resources at the southern border. Donald Trump furiously opposes the bill and argues that it will allow the Democrats to blame the migration crisis on Republicans just as the Presidential election looms.
Trump described the legislation as a “great gift to the Democrats and a Death Wish for The Republican Party.” The GOP frontrunner objects that the bill “only gives Shutdown Authority after 5000 Encounters a day” when he contends that the border needs to be closed entirely. The former President said he will fight the legislation “all the way.”
During an interview with Neil Cavuto on Fox News, Nikki Haley said Americans don’t want Trump or Biden and warned that the former President was putting the United States in harm’s way by refusing to back a bill that could close the nation’s border.
In the same interview, Haley took aim at the age of her Democrat and Republican opponents and said, “There will be female President, it will either be me or Kamala Harris.” The former South Carolina Governor has repeatedly argued that Trump and Biden are too old to serve out a second term, and if the country opts for Biden, it will get Kamala Harris. Haley furthermore accuses Trump of running only for himself. “At no point does he talk about the American people,” she claimed.
Nevertheless, Trump continues to dominate the polls, including in Haley’s home state. A recent survey in the Palmetto State placed Trump at 58% with Haley trailing on 32%. Republican officials, including Senators and the Governor, have all backed Mr. Trump. In broader national polls, the former President won 80% on a February YouGov survey, with Haley on just 12%.
