(ProsperNews.net) – Conservative pundits are calling for a boycott of Netflix after billionaire co-founder Reed Hastings contributed $7 million to a PAC dedicated to Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign. Hastings said in weeks past that he believed it was time for President Joe Biden to withdraw from the race following the first presidential debate. Biden performed so poorly that money-men like Hastings began to suggest replacing him as the party’s candidate within days.
After making the donation to the Republican Accountability PAC, Hastings told the media that he thought the Democrats were “in the game again.” He called the debate “depressing” in those same remarks.
Biden withdrew from the contest on July 21, not even a week after an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump almost resulted in his death. Trump was shot in the ear and had the bullet been inches closer, it most certainly could have killed him. Viral videos on X made a big deal of how Trump turned his head just a moment before being clipped in the ear by the projectile.
Google has been accused of concealing details about the event from search results and even redirecting users to stories about Kamala Harris. Search auto-completes for “president donald” suggested “president donald duck” and “president donald regan” without suggesting Trump’s name.
Naturally, conservatives are angry. Many have suggested canceling their Netflix accounts as one way they can protest with their dollars. Many users went on to describe canceling their accounts with the hope that Netflix will “feel the pain.”
Hastings and his wife have contributed millions to Democrat supporting PACs as well as the party itself over the years. He’d previously given Future Forward – another Democrat front PAC – $1 million in 2019 to oppose Trump’s re-election bid. The organization spent over $10 million on anti-Trump advertisements in the run up to the 2020 election.
