Multiple People Stabbed in Paris by Alleged ISIS Terrorist

(ProsperNews.net) – A man shouting “Allahu Akbar” stabbed several people near the Eiffel Tower in Paris during a busy Saturday night on December 2. A German tourist died, and two people were seriously injured in the attack, which police say was carried out by “radical Islamist” Armand Rajabpour-Miyandoab. Prior to the assault, Rajabpour-Miyandoab, a French national, recorded a video declaring his allegiance to Islamic State, or ISIS, and promising to “avenge the Muslims.”

On December 7, Rajabpour-Miyandoab appeared in a Paris court to face charges of murder, attempted murder in connection with a terrorist enterprise, recidivism, and criminal terrorist conspiracy. The suspect was known to police and was under “psychological surveillance.” He is held without bail to await trial.

France is on high terror alert due to both the Middle East conflict and the upcoming Olympic Games in the capital next summer. The Paris attack is the second in the country in weeks and adds to a long list of deadly Islamist-related incidents over the past two decades.

In October, a teacher died, and two people were injured during another deadly assault in Arras, northern France. The suspect was also a Muslim who was known to police and whose brother is serving time in a French prison for “associating with terrorist criminals.”

Yet another violent attack occurred in June, this time on young children, and shocked the continent. A 31-year-old Syrian, who was refused asylum in Sweden and subsequently traveled to France, entered a playground in broad daylight and stabbed four children and two adults. Horrifying images of the attacker, identified only as Abdalmasih H, plunging a knife into a toddler in a stroller stunned Europe and led to renewed calls for immigration controls.

A similar attack occurred more recently in Ireland when an Algerian immigrant cut a 5-year-old child’s throat as she left school in Dublin. The attack prompted widespread protests, which were met with government promises to crack down on “far-right” responses to Europe’s growing migration crisis.
