(ProsperNews.net) – Michelle Obama is reluctant to help Joe Biden’s campaign because of how the Biden family treated her friend. The former First Lady is friends with Kathleen Buhle, Hunter Biden’s ex-wife, who the Bidens reportedly abandoned following the couple’s 2017 divorce. Buhle and Obama became friends during the Obama administration, and when her divorce was complete, Ms. Buhle wrote a book detailing her life with the current President’s son.
In her memoirs “If We Break,” Buhle described her ex-husband’s drug abuse and infidelity, which reportedly angered the Bidens. Mrs. Obama confided in friends that she believed the Biden family mistreated Ms. Buhle, and reports indicate that her relationship with President Biden remains cold. She has not campaigned for the President’s re-election, and rumor suggests she was equally reticent in 2020.
Relations between the Obamas and Bidens suffered when the former President endorsed Hillary Clinton in 2016. Obama insiders claimed at the time that President Obama talked Biden out of running because it was too soon after the death of his son, Beau.
The former President has appeared alongside President Biden several times throughout the 2024 campaign, but notably without his popular wife. Similarly, while President Obama regularly posts social media messages supporting President Biden, Michelle Obama has remained silent online.
Meanwhile, Obama is reportedly increasingly concerned about President Biden’s chances of defeating Donald Trump in November. The two Presidents have met privately several times to discuss strategy, and Obama quickly defended Biden after the first Presidential debate in Atlanta, which was widely seen as disastrous for Biden.
“Bad debate nights happen. Trust me, I know,” Obama tweeted before characterizing the two candidates as one who has fought for “ordinary folks” and a Republican opponent who “only cares about himself.”
President Biden appeared tired and disconcerted during the crucial debate, prompting several commentators to call for him to step aside. Several pro-Democrat media outlets pleaded with the President to stand down in favor of another candidate.
