McCarthy Refuses to Comment on Whether or Not Biden Took Bribes

(ProsperNews.net) – Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy won’t say if he believes President Biden is guilty of corruption. In an interview with Sean Hannity, McCarthy reiterated his claim that none of the information coming to light would ever have done so without Republican control of the House of Representatives. He said the FBI and the Department of Justice did not pursue or investigate information they’d received about potentially shady business dealings involving the Biden family.

Pressed by Hannity, McCarthy again would not offer a firm opinion on the President’s guilt, but said, “Well, I don’t know of any other family that puts together in government 20 shell companies while you’re the vice president of America.”

The scandal largely centers around testimony given to Congress by a former colleague of the President’s son Hunter Biden. Speaking to the GOP-led House Oversight Committee, Devon Archer said that then-Vice President Biden spoke by speakerphone to board meetings including Hunter Biden on around 20 occasions. He also said that representatives of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company, met with the Vice President in Washington, DC, in 2014 and 2015. However, he added that he did not believe any bribery or corruption was evident.

One damning rumour alleges that a prosecutor investigating Burisma was fired at the behest of Joe Biden. The story swirling around Washington asserts that Vice President Biden took a call from the Burisma boardroom where his son was present. Hunter Biden allegedly told his father that the company needed help. Vice President Biden is then alleged to have threatened to withdraw aid money to Ukraine unless the prosecutor was sacked.

Devon Archer described prosecutor Victor Shokin as a “threat” to Burisma, which at the time was paying Hunter Biden $1 million per year.

Speaker McCarthy has emphasized the severe nature of the allegations against the President. “This is rising to the level of impeachment inquiry, which provides Congress the strongest power to get the rest of the knowledge and information needed,” he said.
