Mass Stabbing Leaves at Least Four Dead, Two Officers Wounded

(ProsperNews.net) – Four people died and two police officers were injured when a man went on a stabbing rampage in New York City on the morning of December 3. Police officers responded to a 911 call and turned up to find a man removing furniture from a house in the borough of Queens.

When approached by the officers, the man took a knife from his pocket and attacked them – slashing them in the face and neck. Both were treated in Jamaica Hospital and released the same day.

When additional officers arrived at the scene, they found a couch ablaze inside the house and, tragically, the bodies of three people – a 44-year-old woman, a man in his 30s, and a 12-year-old boy. All had been stabbed to death. An injured 11-year-old girl was also found outside the house and was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police Benevolent Association President Patrick Hendry said, “This scene was chaos; multiple victims, a house on fire, and a madman on a rampage, on a mission.” Suspect Courtney Gordon was shot and killed by police on the scene.

Mr. Gordon, a 38-year-old who lived in the Bronx, had a police record for domestic violence, and while officers did not name the victims of the stabbings, it is believed they were all family members and all related to Gordon.

Isaac Ferguson, a neighbor who lives close by, was shocked by the level of violence and told the New York Post, “Somehow, people are becoming increasingly ultra-violent. People are murdering entire families.”

The incident was the second example of extreme family violence in New York in 48 hours. Just two days earlier, 30-year-old Vladislav Deshkovich allegedly stabbed his mother in the neck and killed her. Police arrested Deshkovich in Brooklyn and charged him with second-degree murder and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Judge Archana Rao denied bail and ordered Deshkovich’s detention.
