(ProsperNews.net) – Michigan police found a 22-year-old man dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound after he reportedly called to turn himself in for a string of politically motivated crimes. He’s been subsequently identified as Joshua Kemppainen, a resident of Quincy, Michigan. Police said they arrived at his residence two hours after he had sent a message to their offices informing them of his intent to confess to crimes involving an ATV.
Kemppainen is believed to be responsible for a string of three crimes on Sunday, July 21, including the assault of an 80-year-old man who was hospitalized in critical condition as a result of being hit by the vehicle. The man was installing a Trump sign in his yard at the time, and the two other incidents included damage to vehicles which bore Trump paraphernalia or other pro-law enforcement messaging.
Police say that they found the ATV used in the crimes as well as the clothing worn by the driver at Kemppainen’s residence. Hancock Police Chief Tami Sleeman highlighted that the crimes were captured on CCTV footage and thanked the FBI for its assistance due to the small nature of her department.
Sleeman added that there’s no place for political violence in America and expressed disappointment that things have gotten so extreme.
Despite Democratic dogma that Republicans and Trump are divisive authoritarians, they regularly engage in rhetoric which characterizes their political opponents as an existential threat, increasing the likelihood of political violence.
Another young man, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, opened fire on former President Donald Trump on July 13 during a campaign rally, hitting Trump in the ear and killing another rally-goer. Crooks injured two more people with his gunfire before being shot and killed by counter-snipers moments after he opened fire.
Democrats repeatedly claim that Trump and his supporters represent a threat to the American Republic (they prefer to use the phrase “our democracy) while fringe lunatics inspired by their rhetoric engage in violent acts of political violence.
