Man Arrested for ‘Random’ Stabbing of 15 Year-Old

(ProsperNews.net) – A man has been arrested for the “random” killing of a 15-year-old boy in Pennsylvania. Michael Garr was stabbed to death in Upper Darby last year, and police arrested and charged Marson Weh in early January and charged him with first-degree murder. Weh is also suspected of stabbing a pregnant woman in a carjacking two months before murdering Michael Garr.

District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer said the teenager’s killing was a random act, and he was killed while carrying on his normal life. “A juvenile who was doing nothing more than any juvenile should be able to do anywhere in America: just walking down the street in his own neighborhood,” he said. Stollsteimer added that the Garr killing was one of the “most heinous” crimes he had dealt with during his time as District Attorney.

The murder occurred on April 21, 2023, in the Bridge Street area of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. Police uncovered an image of a man fleeing the scene, and eleven days afterward, an undercover officer spotted the same man, wearing the same clothes, leaving a house in nearby Willowbrook Avenue. A search of the home uncovered further evidence, including a pair of pants stained with blood. Testing of the stains found Garr’s DNA.

The alleged murderer was subsequently convicted of assault and vehicle theft in Ohio and sentenced to nine years in prison. He will be extradited to Pennsylvania to face the first-degree murder charge.

Michael Garr’s family has established a non-profit organization called “Dream Beyond the Bench,” which will host events in Michael’s name to fund college scholarships. His uncle, Michael Peabody, said the family is heartbroken, and the sorrow worsens as time passes. “We’re not gonna celebrate a graduation. We’re not going to celebrate him going to college,” he said.

According to a friend, news of Weh’s arrest provided the family with some relief. They released a statement saying, “We are very grateful for all the hours the police and detectives worked on this case.”
