Lynda Carter Chooses Opponent Over Her Republican Sister

(ProsperNews.net) – Lynda Carter, known for playing Wonder Woman in the 1970s, made headlines last weekend when she publicly endorsed Democratic candidates running against her own sister in an Arizona state race. Her sister, Pamela Carter, is running as a Republican for Arizona’s Legislative District 4, alongside fellow conservative Matt Gress.

Rather than supporting her sister or staying neutral, Lynda Carter decided to back the two Democrats in the race, Karen Gresham and Kelli Butler. On September 14, she posted on X, formerly Twitter, saying, “As a native Arizonan, I am proud to endorse @KelliButlerAZ and @KarenGreshamAZ for the two LD4 seats in Arizona’s State House. Kelli and Karen are both strong, experienced candidates, born and raised in Arizona.”

The actress also praised Gresham and Butler for being working mothers focused on key issues like education. “They are fighting for the rights that matter most to Arizonans, especially every child’s right to a quality education,” she added.

This public endorsement was seen as a snub to her sister, Pamela, who is running on a platform centered on securing the southern border, supporting law enforcement, and fighting inflation. Pamela Carter, who was a state director for Trump’s 2020 campaign, accuses her Democratic opponents of supporting what she calls “Joe Biden’s open border policies.”

On her campaign website, Pamela Carter argues that these policies have led to a surge in human trafficking, drugs, and gang violence. “Our open borders are allowing drugs and crime to flood in, putting us all at risk,” her site claims. She believes that securing the border and enforcing Arizona’s laws are key to protecting the state.

Lynda Carter, who has a history of supporting Democratic candidates, also announced her endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris two days later. “I’m voting for @KamalaHarris because she has a proven track record of improving the lives of everyday Americans,” she said on X.
