(ProsperNews.net) – In a surprising turn, liberal icon and feminist author Naomi Wolf publicly endorsed former President Donald Trump, praising his efforts toward unity and inclusivity. In an interview on Steve Bannon’s War Room podcast, Wolf pointed to Trump’s growing alliances with prominent figures like former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., ex-Democratic Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, and tech mogul Elon Musk. She described Trump’s approach as “more inclusive,” noting that under his leadership, the Republican Party has shifted toward becoming the “unity party.”
“President Trump did something very smart,” Wolf remarked, highlighting his outreach to people from diverse communities, including Black, Hispanic, and Puerto Rican Americans. She applauded Trump’s efforts to broaden his base and bring together people from various backgrounds. “You guys have become the unity party, and he’s leading the unity party, and I would be an idiot if I didn’t recognize that.”
When asked what led her, a key figure in progressive circles, to endorse Trump, Wolf shared that her views evolved after hearing Trump speak in person at Bedminster. During this speech to a group of Orthodox Jews, Trump addressed his vision for peace in the Middle East, a topic that Wolf found particularly compelling. She noted that Trump’s comments on peace and saving lives, both Palestinian and Israeli, presented a very different picture from the one often portrayed in mainstream media.
“All of my information about him was filtered through legacy media — ‘He’s a fascist. He’s a misogynist. He’s a racist,’” Wolf said. But seeing Trump’s demeanor in person gave her a new perspective. “I saw someone who was eloquent, articulate, thoughtful, very funny… He was a serious person talking seriously about peace in the Middle East, about saving lives, innocent lives — Palestinian and Israeli. And, how can that not be good?”
Wolf, who authored Facing the Beast: Courage, Faith, and Resistance in a New Dark Age, had previously caught attention for writing an essay apologizing to conservatives for the Democratic Party’s actions following the release of footage from the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. Her endorsement of Trump signals a significant shift for someone long associated with progressive and feminist causes.
