(ProsperNews.net) – Klaus Schwab is standing down as leader of the globalist World Economic Forum (WEF). The 86-year-old executive chairman, who founded the organization in 1971, announced his decision in an email to staff but explained that he would remain in a non-executive role. He did not name a replacement, but speculation suggests that WEF President Børge Brende, former Foreign Minister of Norway, is set to take over. Other commentators have suggested Schwab’s children, Nicole and Olivier, are also in the running.
German-born Schwab founded the premier globalist advocacy group with just $6,000 and turned it into a $390 million per year organization that attracts politicians and business leaders from all over the world to its annual conference in Davos, Switzerland. The WEF is a leading promoter of world governance and digital currency and has faced extensive criticism for using the coronavirus pandemic to advocate for a “great reset.”
During the pandemic, the WEF released a video encouraging collective ownership and suggesting that people would “own nothing and be happy” within the coming decades. The John Locke Foundation, for example, described the Great Reset and its ideas as a WEF attempt to replace traditional shareholder capitalism with stakeholder capitalism and thereby place “centralized, unchecked power in the hands of the global elite.”
Schwab devised the phrase “stakeholder capitalism” to describe an economy based on “shared prosperity and equitable growth.” Economists further define stakeholder capitalism as a business model that considers the interests of stakeholders, such as employees and customers, as well as shareholders.
Klaus Schwab began his career as an educator at the University of Geneva in Switzerland, teaching business policy between 1972 and 2003. He founded the European Management Forum in 1971 and later renamed it the World Economic Forum. Author of several books, Schwab argues for a “fourth industrial revolution” based on the powers of technology, with emphasis on artificial intelligence and its potential to create transhumanism – using tech to alter and lengthen human life.
