King Charles III Diagnosed With Cancer, Royal Family Reports

(ProsperNews.net) – The United Kingdom’s Head of State, King Charles III, has been diagnosed with cancer. A statement from Buckingham Palace confirmed the diagnosis but did not say where the cancer is located or what treatment the King would receive. The news came, however, after King Charles attended a private hospital in London for a prostate procedure.

The Palace’s statement said, “During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted.” The statement went on to say that the King would undergo a “schedule of regular treatments” and confirmed that he would temporarily step back from public duties, but continue to conduct affairs of State.

The Palace added that the King is optimistic about his coming treatment and looks forward to returning to complete duties as soon as possible.

King Charles III formally ascended to the British throne in April 2023, following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, the previous year. Queen Elizabeth was the longest-serving Monarch in British history, having served for more than 70 years. This meant that her son was 73 when he was anointed King at a lavish ceremony in London.

There is some media speculation surrounding what may happen if the King decides to step down from the throne because of his health. If that occurs, the Crown will pass to his son, Prince William, who enjoys more popularity among the British public than his father. Public polls regularly reveal William as the most popular member of the Royal family, particularly since the death of Queen Elizabeth, whereas King Charles often falls far behind.

The succession of the throne places Prince William first, followed by his son Prince George, his daughter Princess Charlotte, his youngest son Prince Louis, and in fifth place, Prince Harry, whose marriage to controversial American Meghan Markle has caused his previously high popularity to plummet; particularly after the couple accused the Royal family of racism during an interview with Oprah Winfrey.
