(ProsperNews.net) – North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un indulges in copious amounts of European food and drink while millions of his people starve, according to leaks from inside the secretive state. The leader, who is nicknamed Pang (“the fat one”) by his staff, is reported to have a particular fondness for whisky and parma ham. Defense expert Anthony Glees said, “According to his chef, he is an inveterate boozer, drinks Black Label Scotch whisky and Hennessy brandy, and is a heavy smoker.”
South Korea’s intelligence services recently said they believe Kim suffers from insomnia and takes a large number of pills. They speculate that his alcohol abuse, heavy smoking, lack of sleep, and his weight, all combine to pose a serious threat to his health and have caused him to cancel appearances at several events this year. His unhealthy lifestyle was described as the only threat to his authority.
Kim Jong-Un came to power in 2011 following the death of his father. Little is known about life inside North Korea, but his rule is believed to be particularly brutal. A report in 2021 described how the leader orders executions with impunity – those killed include attempted emigrants, religious believers, or those who express disloyalty to the state. Many more are placed in detention in the most appalling conditions which observers say are intended to cause the highest degree of pain and distress.
Early in his rule, Kim Jong-Un sought to deter potential opposition by executing key figures in dramatic fashion, including his uncle. Kang Cheol-Hwan, a North Korean dissident, reported how the leader made his uncle watch while he executed colleagues using powerful weapons, including anti-aircraft missiles. These obliterated the victims, whose blood was poured over Kim’s uncle’s head before he passed out from fear. The uncle was then executed by the same method.
Starvation remains on the rise in North Korea, where the communist system continually fails to produce enough food for the 26 million population.
