Kamala Harris Allegedly Offered Cornel West Job, Debt Payoff to Quit

(ProsperNews.net) – Independent presidential candidate Dr. Cornel West has claimed that Vice President Kamala Harris’s team offered him a job and the chance to pay off his campaign debts if he would drop out of the 2024 race. This accusation was made during an interview on the Status Coup News podcast, where West spoke with independent journalist Jordan Chariton.

In their conversation, West explained that people from Harris’s camp reached out to him, encouraging him to support Harris and abandon his campaign. They suggested it was a “historic moment,” especially significant for the Black community. However, West made it clear that he wasn’t interested in these offers. He emphasized that he wasn’t running for personal gain or positions of power, saying, “That’s not the game I play.”

When Chariton pressed him for more details, asking whether a job or financial incentives were offered, West admitted that there were “various kinds of offers” but declined to share specifics. He did hint that the offers included potential positions in Harris’s administration, but he chose not to dwell on those details, wanting the focus to remain on his message and campaign.

West’s presidential run has caused concern within the Democratic Party, as some fear he could pull votes away from Harris in key battleground states, which might increase former President Donald Trump’s chances of winning. In response, Democrats have filed legal challenges in several states, trying to keep West off the ballot. Despite these efforts, West’s campaign recently announced that they had successfully secured ballot access in 18 states, including important swing states like Michigan, Florida, and Wisconsin. His campaign defeated multiple legal challenges aimed at keeping him off the ballot.

The alleged offer from Harris’s team brings back memories of a similar situation in 2010. Back then, the Obama administration tried to convince Representative Joe Sestak to drop out of a Senate race in Pennsylvania. It was later revealed that President Bill Clinton had been involved in offering Sestak a job in exchange for him stepping aside.

West continues his campaign, standing firm in his decision to stay in the race and remain independent of political deals.
