(ProsperNews.net) – A Venezuelan illegal immigrant who boasts about how American taxpayers fund his lifestyle has called for migrants to support a 15-year-old who allegedly shot a tourist in New York City. Leonal Moreno posted a video to 300,000 social media followers, saying, “Let’s unite forces so that this child can be free and has an opportunity.”
Cops arrested teenager Jesus Alejandro Rivas-Figueroa in February after he and two accomplices, also migrants, allegedly attempted to shoplift at JD Sports in Times Square, Manhattan. When a security guard intervened, Rivas-Figueroa reportedly pulled a gun and tried to shoot him. The 15-year-old then began shooting randomly into the store and hit a tourist in the leg before fleeing and firing again at a pursuing NYPD officer. Rivas-Figueroa returned to his lodgings and attempted to escape the city with his mother but was caught hiding out behind a wardrobe at a house in Yonkers a day later.
The teenager will be tried as an adult and faces charges including two counts of attempted murder, assault, attempted assault, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. He is held in a juvenile detention center in New York, and police also arrested his mother for allegedly attempting to help him evade justice.
The Venezuelan migrants arrived in America in September and have been housed in the Stratford Hotel on West 70th Street since then. Jesus is also suspected of involvement in a shooting incident in January in Midtown, as well as a robbery in the Bronx.
Meanwhile, Leonal Moreno continues using TikTok to brag about how he does not intend to work in America and enjoys living on taxpayer dollars. Stating that work gives him “allergies,” Moreno begs on street corners and says he can make almost $100 an hour. He lives in Columbus, Ohio, with a partner and 3-month-old daughter.
Daniel Di Martino of the Manhattan Institute said Moreno represents everything wrong with the US immigration system.
