Immigrant Faces Charges for Wife’s Horrifying Murder

(ProsperNews.net) – Prosecutors in Illinois have charged an illegal immigrant with the brutal murder of his 26-year-old wife. Baltazar Perez-Estrada, from Mexico, allegedly stabbed his wife several times in the head, neck, and body so viciously that he almost decapitated her. The killing occurred in front of the couple’s two young children, and reports suggest it happened when a verbal argument spun out of control and became physical. Court documents indicate that Maricela Simon Franco intended to end the marriage.

Records show Perez-Estrada entered the US illegally just weeks earlier. At the time, border patrol agents intercepted him, gave him an immigration court date, and released him.

The Mexican suspect is held without bail in DuPage County Jail after handing himself in to police.

Republicans reacted with fury to the killing, with Majorie Taylor Greene accusing the Biden administration of “letting monsters” into the United States. The Georgia lawmaker also lashed out at Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, whose impeachment is in the works.

On Twitter, Rep. Taylor Greene warned that Mayorkas will be held accountable. “When we deliver the articles, Schumer better hold a trial,” she wrote. The Georgian has previously cautioned that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer will face the “wrath” of Republicans if he shelves the impeachment articles passed by the House.

Senate Republicans clashed with Democrats in mid-April, with the latter hoping they could drop the impeachment case. However, GOP Senators, led by Utah’s Mike Lee, plan to implement procedural roadblocks and shine a political spotlight on Democrats’ refusal to investigate Mayorkas and the porous southern border.

Senator Lee, who sits on the Judiciary Committee, accused Senator Schumer of “trying to ignore” impeachment articles. He warned, however, that he would fight to ensure Mayorkas and Congress are held accountable for the “current invasion of America’s southern border.”

To dismiss the articles, Senator Schumer needs a simple majority in the Senate, which analysts say is likely given the Democrats’ slim majority of 51 to 49.
