(ProsperNews.net) – On September 7, 34-year-old Julio Cesar Pimentel-Soriano was arrested in connection with the murder of a family of four in Irondequoit, New York. Originally from the Dominican Republic, Pimentel-Soriano is also wanted for a murder in his home country that took place in 2019 according to reports.
The victims, Fraime Ubaldo, 30, Marangely Moreno-Santiago, 26, and their two young children, Evangeline and Sebastian, were found dead in their home on August 31. The tragic scene unfolded as firefighters responded to several fires at their house that morning. However, police later determined the fires were not the cause of their deaths as authorities clarified.
“This was a horrific scene,” said Irondequoit Police Chief Scott Peters, describing the tragedy as one of the most disturbing cases in his 32-year career. After an extensive investigation, authorities were able to track down and arrest Pimentel-Soriano just days later.
According to the Irondequoit Police Department, Pimentel-Soriano had entered Puerto Rico illegally and obtained a fraudulent New York ID. With that ID, he was able to travel freely to the U.S. mainland, where the crime occurred based on police reports.
The local community has been in shock following the discovery. A makeshift vigil has been set up at the family’s home on Knapp Avenue, filled with stuffed animals and photos of the victims, as neighbors and friends mourn their loss.
Irondequoit Town Supervisor Andrae Evans expressed his sorrow over the incident, offering support to the family and promising the town’s full cooperation with law enforcement. “I’m so sorry this has happened,” Evans said, emphasizing that the Town Board would authorize any resources needed to ensure justice is served.
While police have not released much information yet, the investigation remains active as they work to uncover more details surrounding the case. For now, the focus is on finding justice for the Moreno family and bringing closure to the community.
