Illegal Immigrant Caught Trespassing Military Base

(ProsperNews.net) – A Chinese illegal immigrant was arrested in California for entering a military base without authorization and ignoring requests to leave. Chief Border Patrol Agent Gregory Bovino said his agents responded to an emergency call about the immigrant when he declined to exit the military installation upon orders and continued to proceed inside. A spokesperson told reporters that military officers were immediately deployed to arrest and detain the individual.

Immediate investigations concluded that the immigrant was in the United States illegally. “His purpose & intent behind his actions are still being investigated,” Mr. Bovino tweeted.

Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) data shows over 22,000 Chinese immigrant encounters at the southern border this fiscal year, which began last October. This figure is a significant increase from the previous year, which recorded just 2,186 encounters. In the 2021 fiscal year, the number was even lower, at 450.

Republicans say the growing number of Chinese entrants constitutes a national security threat and note that the vast majority of migrants are released into the US interior. Senator Roger Marshall of Kansas led GOP calls last September for a crackdown, saying many Chinese immigrants have ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and could be involved in espionage, cyber-attacks, or other activities that threaten the United States.

In a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Senator Marshall and a group of fellow Republicans asked how border authorities identify entrants from China and whether questions are asked of them regarding their association or relationship with the CCP.

Figures released in February confirm that Chinese citizens are the fastest-growing group entering the US unlawfully. The migrants travel thousands of miles and through multiple countries to arrive at America’s border, and some have recorded their journeys on social media. One immigrant documented his expedition, which included Thailand, Morocco, Spain, Ecuador, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Guatemala. Most say they make the journey to secure a better life for their children.
