Illegal Alien Rearrested After Boys Found Chained in Apartment

(ProsperNews.net) – A shocking incident occurred in Fairfax County, Virginia, when police arrested an illegal immigrant and his girlfriend after discovering two young boys chained up inside their apartment.

The man involved, Franklin Viera Guevara, is a 29-year-old from El Salvador who had previously been deported from the United States. His girlfriend, Wedni Del Cid Rodriguez, is 47 years old. Both were arrested and charged with several serious crimes, including child neglect, child cruelty, and child abduction. The victims in this case were Rodriguez’s two young sons, aged seven and nine.

The troubling situation came to light on August 15 when police were called to the apartment. Upon arrival, officers found the two boys with their ankles chained to a post near a sleeping cot. The details of how the police got involved make the story even more alarming. Apparently, one of the boys, despite his horrible situation, managed to use a cellphone to take a picture of his chained ankle. He then sent the picture to his sister. His sister, horrified by what she saw, immediately called the police. That call is what brought officers to the apartment and led to the rescue of the boys.

When questioned, Guevara and Rodriguez reportedly claimed that they chained the boys to “scare” them, saying it was meant to keep them from leaving the apartment. Needless to say, this explanation did not sit well with the police, and both adults were promptly arrested.

This wasn’t Guevara’s first encounter with law enforcement in the U.S. According to reports, he was initially arrested in November 2018 near McAllen, Texas, after crossing the U.S.-Mexico border illegally. By February 2019, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) had deported him back to El Salvador. Despite this, Guevara managed to re-enter the U.S. illegally and ended up living with Rodriguez in Fairfax County. How long he had been back in the U.S. before his arrest remains unclear.

Currently, Rodriguez has been released on bond, while Guevara remains held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. ICE has placed a detainer on him, meaning they plan to take custody if he is ever released from jail.

This case raises serious questions about the effectiveness of immigration enforcement and highlights the disturbing abuse of two innocent children.
