(ProsperNews.net) – The President’s son, Hunter Biden, had photographs of himself using illegal drugs on his phone, according to a recent filing by the Department of Justice. The filing is part of evidence related to a string of gun charges issued by Special Counsel David Weiss last year, including a charge that Hunter Biden lied on a federal document when he purchased a firearm in 2018. Drug users are prohibited from buying guns, and the President’s son falsely claimed that he did not use narcotics, but the photos show him using drugs, including crack cocaine, before he bought the handgun.
“Also prior to his gun purchase, the defendant routinely sent messages about purchasing drugs,” the documents state. Text messages include Hunter Biden asking for “baby powder” and “the really soft stuff,” as well as discussing drug use with his then-girlfriend Hallie Biden.
On the day directly after he bought the firearm, October 13, 2018, Hunter Biden messaged his girlfriend telling her he was “meeting a drug dealer and smoking crack.”
Photos show him sitting in a bath smoking through a pipe, lines of white powder, and a small box containing drug paraphernalia. Mr. Biden also refers to himself as an “addict” in several message exchanges.
The charges were filed against the President’s son last October, and he pleaded not guilty to two counts of making false statements and one count of illegal gun possession. Despite the evidence noting his drug problems when he bought the gun, and his admission in an autobiography that he was an addict at that time, Hunter Biden insisted he did not break the law.
Kevin McMunigal, a legal expert at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio, said, however, that it is not as straightforward as it seems. The prosecution will need to prove he was addicted at the time he filled out the form, and as he was in and out of rehab in 2018, that may not be easy to do.
