Hunter Biden’s Bar License Suspended in D.C., Barred in Connecticut

(ProsperNews.net) – Hunter Biden’s legal practice license has been suspended in Washington, DC. The President’s son is also suspended in Connecticut for failing to pay a fee, and experts say he could soon face disbarment. Hunter Biden was convicted on illegal weapons possession charges in Delaware in June, and the DC court ordered its lawyer disciplinary body to launch a full investigation into his conduct.

In a letter to Mr. Biden, the Board on Professional Responsibility warned that he faces potential disbarment if “the crime of which you stand convicted can be said to involve moral turpitude.” This is usually interpreted as a serious offense that “violates the sentiment or accepted standard” of the legal profession.

Abbe Lowell, Hunter Biden’s attorney, requested his client have a new trial because his trial judge did not have jurisdiction because of pending rulings in the appeals court. The appeals court had rejected arguments to dismiss the charges, but the ensuing trial got underway without a formal mandate from that court.

Hunter Biden passed the bar in Connecticut in 2007 and practiced law with Boies Schiller & Flexner from 2009 to 2017. During the trial, prosecutors used his legal history against him, arguing that as an attorney, he must have understood the documents he filled out when purchasing a handgun in 2018 and the serious nature of lying on federal documents.

The case centered around Hunter Biden’s mental state when he bought the gun and whether he was addicted to drugs at the time. In his memoir, he wrote that he was a heavy crack cocaine user, but during his trial, he argued that he was not on drugs at the exact time he completed the forms and, therefore, was not guilty of the offense.

The President’s oldest living son faces a potential 25-year jail term, though experts say such a sentence is unlikely. President Biden has confirmed that he will not pardon his son or commute his sentence.
