Hunter Biden Denies Dad’s Business Involvement, Slams Impeachment

(ProsperNews.net) – The President’s son, Hunter Biden, told a Congressional committee that he had not involved his father in his previous business ventures and said the case against the President was “baseless.” Speaking to the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees, he said Republicans are engaging in a “partisan political pursuit” against his father, and they could not produce evidence of wrongdoing “because there isn’t any.”

In a furious denouncement of the proceedings, Biden Jr. said several witnesses have already told the “so-called impeachment investigation” that he did not do business with his father and Republicans are engaged in “MAGA-motivated conspiracies,” having built their “entire partisan house of cards on lies.”

Addressing his previous addiction problems, Hunter Biden told the committee that he had squandered opportunities, which he alone is responsible for. He added that his father had saved his life, and love and support from him helped him achieve sobriety.

In his memoirs, published in 2021, Hunter Biden detailed his slide into alcohol and crack cocaine addiction and said he had his first drink at the age of 8. He credits his survival to his family’s support, but he still faces consequences in the form of criminal charges related to a handgun purchase at the height of his drug use, when he allegedly lied on federal documents saying he had no addiction problems.

His testimony to the Congressional committee was part of a long-running probe into Republican claims that Joe Biden gained financially for assisting Ukrainian gas firm Burisma and arranging for the firing of an attorney investigating the firm for corruption.

In February, the President’s brother, James Biden, also testified that Joe Biden had no involvement in any of his past business ventures, while Democrats called for the probe to be dropped. Democrat Rep. Jamie Raskin, who sits on the Oversight Committee, called the investigation a “wild good chase” based on Russian propaganda and disinformation. “I don’t really know why we need to continue this charade any longer,” he said.
