House Republican Says Fauci Visited CIA to Sway COVID-19 Origin Findings

(ProsperNews.net) – Dr. Anthony Fauci had secret meetings with the CIA during its investigations into the origins of the coronavirus pandemic, according to the leader of a Congressional committee. Republican Rep. Brad Wenstrup of Ohio, who heads the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, said the panel had obtained “concerning information” that Fauci was “escorted” to CIA headquarters to “influence” its findings on the origin of the virus.

Mr. Wenstrup has written a letter to the US Department of Health and Human Services requesting that it supply any documentation pertaining to Fauci’s alleged CIA meetings and asking that Special Agent Brett Rowland be made available for an interview with the committee. Mr. Rowland was part of Dr. Fauci’s personal protection team when he was director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

The letter states that “the American people deserve the truth—to know the origins of the virus and whether there was a concerted effort by public health authorities to suppress the lab leak theory for political or national security purposes.”

The allegations come only days after whistleblower testimony to Congress claimed the CIA offered to pay analysts to testify that the virus did not come from a lab in Wuhan but was transmitted from animals. The whistleblower told the House committee that an investigation into the origins had found that “the intelligence and science were sufficient to make a low-confidence assessment that COVID-19 originated from a laboratory in Wuhan, China.”

The witness went on to say that the six members of the investigation panel were “given a significant monetary incentive to change their position.”

The House panel has also requested an interview with CIA chief operating officer Andrew Makridis, who it says played a central role in the coronavirus origins investigation.

CIA Public Affairs Director Tammy Kupperman Thorp said the agency takes these allegations very seriously and is “looking into them.” She promised to keep the House Select Subcommittee fully informed.
