Hosts Poke Fun at Concerned Voters Over Border Crisis

(ProsperNews.net) – MSNBC hosts mocked Virginia voters who expressed concern about the border crisis during coverage of Super Tuesday. Led by Rachel Maddow, who was joined by Jen Psaki and Joy Reid, they highlighted a poll of Virginia voters who named immigration as their primary political concern and alleged they are racists. Reid accused residents of the Old Dominion State of “voting on this idea of an invasion of Brown people.” When Psaki highlighted Virginia’s border concerns, Rachel Maddow replied, “Well, Virginia does have a border with West Virginia.”

Ms. Psaki furthermore claimed that Donald Trump had “indoctrinated” people into believing that people who don’t look like them pose a threat to them. Rachel Maddow appeared to play down the migration crisis that has seen record numbers cross the US border under Biden’s Presidency, stating that such concerns are expressed at every election, particularly when the White House incumbent is a Democrat.

The House Judiciary GOP responded to the exchange on Twitter, saying the hosts need to pay more attention to cases such as the murder of Georgia student Laken Riley, which has become a flashpoint in the immigration debate. They accused Democrats of “laughing” at the migration that is “hurting” American cities and people.

According to February figures, more than 7 million people have entered the US under the Biden administration. Fox News notes that the figure is higher than the population of 36 states and does not include the estimated 1.8 million “gotaways” who have evaded official documentation.

The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) claims that there are around 419,000 illegal immigrants currently residing in Virginia, which costs the taxpayer $2.84 billion annually. Costs include education, housing, healthcare, and criminal justice. It also notes that a Venezuelan immigrant was recently charged with sexually assaulting a young girl, a Honduran immigrant was arrested for rape last October, and in Loudon County, police detained an immigrant for kidnapping and repeatedly raping a young girl last August.
