(ProsperNews.net) – Democrats have called on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to help President Biden with his 2024 Presidential election campaign. Clinton held a fundraiser for the President at her home that raised $1 million, and Democrats believe she can deliver the support of women and other key demographics.
Conservatives have ridiculed Clinton’s presence, with Fox News host Charlie Hurt saying, “You know you are in deep, deep trouble if you are picking up the bat phone and calling Hillary Clinton to come help you out.” Fox’s Alicia Acuna added that Biden is taking a huge risk in including Clinton, partly because she and President Biden “don’t exactly have a cozy relationship.”
Democrats appear to be scrambling amid falling poll numbers for the President. Campaign spokesperson Kevin Munoz pointed to survey results in the months leading up to President Obama’s re-election, saying, “Gallup predicted an eight-point loss for President Obama only for him to win handily a year later.”
In an email to supporters, campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriquez also asked donors to remember that Obama trailed behind in 2011 polls and to avoid assuming that current figures are a failsafe prediction. Numbers show, however, that Obama did not face the same deficits as President Biden. Fox News points out that its 2011 polls consistently placed Obama ahead of Mitt Romney, whereas Biden has fallen behind Trump by four points in the network’s latest public survey.
Not only is Trump extending his lead in the GOP primaries, but the national picture, at present, suggests a second term in the White House. An Ipsos survey taken on December 11 placed the former President on 36% with the current President trailing at 31%. Morning Consult results show Trump at 43% to Biden’s 41%, and a CNN survey from November 30 to December 7 placed Mr. Trump at 43% and Biden at just 34%.
Further polling shows that Trump is head of the President in crucial swing states, including Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Georgia.
