GOP Refers Hunter and James Biden to DOJ for Alleged False Statements

(ProsperNews.net) – House Committees have referred Hunter Biden and James Biden to the Department of Justice, accusing them of lying to Congress during President Biden’s impeachment inquiry. In a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan, and Ways and Means Chair Jason Smith claimed that Hunter and James Biden made false statements during February depositions.

The letter states that the President’s son “falsely distanced himself” from the company Rosemont Seneca Bohai, but documents show that he signed a corporate resolution as the “acting Secretary.” An IRS whistleblower furthermore claims that Hunter Biden was the company’s bank account holder.

The Republicans also allege that Hunter Biden lied when he testified that an individual he exchanged WhatsApp messages with, identified as “Zhao,” was not the Zhao connected to the company CEFC China Energy Co., but a different person. CEFC is a Chinese company that allegedly paid Hunter Biden in exchange for his family’s beneficial influence.

In the WhatsApp messages, Hunter Biden told Zhao that his father was with him but later claimed he was “drunk and probably high” at the time.

During his deposition, the President’s brother, James Biden, claimed that President Biden had no involvement in the family business. Whistleblower Tony Bobulinski, an associate of the Bidens, said, however, that he had met with the President and his brother and that Hunter Biden confirmed that meeting in his testimony.

“Hunter confirmed his uncle perjured himself in front of this committee,” Bobulinski told lawmakers. He added that he was shocked by this denial, primarily because there were available text messages confirming the meeting.

House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith said in May that lying to Congress is a federal offense and one that the Justice Department has “prosecuted numerous individuals for in recent years.” Smith added that the same principles should apply no matter the identity of the parties and that the President should be held accountable.
