(ProsperNews.net) – According to viewership statistics, Fox News dominated the month of October and outperformed CNN and MSNBC by a wide margin. Fox News averaged over 1.4 million daily viewers, with MSNBC having just under 900,000 and CNN pulling in just 600,000 daily viewers.
Of those daily viewers in the highly sought age range of 25-54-year-old adults, Fox News pulled in around 174,000 daily. By comparison, MSNBC only attracted an abysmal 98,000, and CNN pulled in about 120,000. During the most popular viewing hours, Fox averaged over 2 million viewers, with MSNBC barely breaking 1 million and CNN only having 722,000 viewers. The statistics indicate Fox News will remain the most popular nationally syndicated news network for another month. So far, viewers have preferred Fox for over 30 months.
Fox’s famous “The Five” is the primary reason for the network’s overwhelming popularity and serves as the most popular content on Fox’s network. The Five is also the most popular news program in the country, despite airing outside of the usual prime hours for cable networks.
Fox’s outstanding performance among viewers isn’t limited to The Five, however, as each of Fox’s standalone programs outperforms any MSNBC or CNN content. Among these programs are shows run by Jesse Watters and Sean Hannity, which average over two million viewers. These programs’ viewership increased over October, indicating a continuing shift in the political landscape to traditional conservative networks. Each of Fox’s shows outperformed MSNBC and CNN in the aforementioned critical demographic range, with “Hannity” serving as the most-watched Fox program for adults between 18 and 49. Fox’s dominance over other news networks comes as CNN and MSNBC face a variety of accusations, including improper conduct behind the scenes and a leaning toward heavy political bias.
CNN, in particular, is struggling to manage its news network, having canceled a streaming service and replacing multiple chief executives over the past few years. One such executive served as a chairman of CNN but left the company after just one year. Chris Licht only helmed CNN for a year but oversaw numerous layoffs and the loss of two widely beloved television anchors. CNN also saw the lowest ratings of its lifetime during Licht’s leadership. CNN is recovering but fails to attain the historic viewership of Fox News. The conflict in Israel bolstered CNN’s ratings, but Fox maintains a solid lead for the 33rd month in a row.
