(ProsperNews.net) – Hollywood veteran Jane Fonda has predicted that America will become unlivable if Donald Trump wins another White House term. During a recent media interview, Fonda admitted she is not entirely happy with President Biden, but she said he is at least someone the American people can work with. Describing November’s election as “existential,” Ms. Fonda joined several celebrities who have issued dire warnings about a second Trump Presidency.
Goodfellas star Robert DeNiro spoke outside a New York City court in late May, saying if Trump re-enters the Oval Office, he will “never leave.” DeNiro cautioned that America had forgotten history’s lessons and failed to take Trump seriously when he first ran for office. “No one is laughing now,” he added.
The National Association of Broadcasters subsequently withdrew a leadership award to Mr. DeNiro, saying his outspoken political views and active promotion of Joe Biden were a “distraction.”
Tom Hanks previously lashed out at Trump for his infamous “locker room” talk in the run-up to the 2016 election, but has since taken a more moderate view and said he has faith in the American people to keep him in check. Julia Roberts and George Clooney recently attended a lavish Joe Biden fundraiser in Los Angeles, raising $30 million for the President’s re-election campaign.
In her interview, Fonda explained her reasons for backing Biden, which she said was only partly about stopping Trump. She described her climate change activism and her concerns that the former President invited CEOs from major oil companies to his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida and told them he would abolish regulations in exchange for $1 billion.
Trump insiders admit the meeting with the CEOs took place but denied any quid pro quo arrangement. The chairs of the Senate Budget and Finance committees have since announced that they will investigate the meeting, which Budget Chair Sheldon Whitehouse described as the “definition of corruption.” Others said Trump was eliciting bribes and breaking the law.
